How can I find average power across any component for a given schematic in ORCAD/Captur CIS?

Thanks,

No simple answer. Got to get the pencil out and do the calculations based on your assumptions.

    Good reading here: http://www.eznec.com/Amateur/RMS_Power.pdf

I assume you have a basic physics/EE background as well.

I have the calculations done on paper but would have still liked to know how to use the software to compute that as well . . .but I did resolve the issue anyhow!

    JETEE,

After runing the ckt. Follow the below steps to obtain the average power from PSPICE A/D window

Trace-Add Trace-Select Analog operators and Functions(from Function or Macros) and choose AVG() and then choose the W(x) from simulation output variable (where x is the component).

He says he's in OrCAD not PSPICE.  :)
