No Connect Pins in CIS

Anyone have feedback on best method of handling NC pins?

Some ideas I have are:

1. Leave to schematic designer to enter as a property during schematic entry (least preferred)

2. Build into the schematic symbol - can this be done as a property rather than requiring graphical representation ?

3. Enter NC pins into CIS database and have CIS load the property

Regarding 2, yes, you can set the NC property (don't remember the exact syntax - look in Help) on the symbol.

I go back and forth on the "preferred" method.  History shows that I prefer attaching the "NC" property to the symbol with the pin numbers.  This is especially useful when you have 10 or more pins. On parts with only 2 or 3 pins I usually just add them as NC1, NC2, NC3...

Some folks like to "see" the NC pins ... to that I say display the property on the symbol when the property has been added.  The attached image shows a case where the pins were shown to aid the curious.
