Server 2003 'crashed' when installing Cadence

I was installing Licence Manager onto a server running Windows Server 2003 R2 and the server crashed spectactularly with the following error........

 "0X0E: Operating System. Code 0X01: System Crash. BugCheck STOP. Critical Error."

Once server was restarted with recovery disk 2 hours later after finally getting the hard disk recognised discovered the following in error log..........

"Product 1-wire Drivers 4.01 Beta" was the cause of the crash.

 I need to try to re-install this software on the same server, what caused this, is there a fix, why are the drivers that are being shipping on the DVD only Beta when destined for Production Systems?
