How to create a pad with 2 through-holes

Recently I've run across several through-hole parts that have 2 pins for a single signal. These are all high-current parts, a connector, and current sense resistor, and a fuse clip. I'm using Layout16.0. Is there a way to define a pad with 2 (or more) through-holes? Is so, how? The only work-around that I have discovered is to define the part in Capture as having twice as many pins as signals and then tying the appropriate pins together either in Capture or in Layout using free tracks.

You can create a padstack on the layout side to have multiple drill holes for one given pin by enabling the Multiple Drill option inside of Pad Designer so two drills are generated for each pad.

Here is a very basic example: (see attached image)

    Regular Pad = Oblong 70 x 170 mils
    Plated Drill = 50 mils
Enable Multiple drills option = Change Rows to 2 and ClearanceY to 50 mils

This will give you a padstack with two drills. Note: You would need to correctly locate one of the drilled holes to line up with the comnector pins so some math is required but other than that this gives you what you are looking for.

    Hope this helps,

    Hi,

You are asking a question about OrCAD Layout and a betterplace might be to ask on the OrCAD forum.

Well, here is a tricky one for you all.... We need a pad that has multiple drills, but the drills are not uniformly spaced. So far all we can do is vias with a line over em. Any ideas?

Try offseting a multi-drill pad. See the attachement if it comes through.
