DxDesigner

Just curious, how many people use DxDesigner for front end design & Allegro for back end?  Are there any statistics as to what %age of Allegro users use DxDesigner for capturing logic?

    Hello,

    I have used DxDesigner (Viewdraw) on the front end to drive Allegro on the back end for some time now (+15 yrs).  The advantage of DxDesginer is you have the ability to drive logic into many different back end layout tools as well as it being very cost effective.  As far as a percentage of Allegro users that use DxDesigner for capturing logic, that would be a difficult number to get.

    The only follow-up comment I have is the integration has been getting more and more difficult to maintain due to the use of Constraint Manager for design rule management.  I have been a very large advocate in using DxDesigner for the front end and driving rules forward to Allegro using net level properties with great success, including successful back-annotation of swaps and rename, but it is becoming more difficult with the limitation of the Telesis netlist (3rd Party) format that hasn't changed in a very very long time.

    I may of gave you more information than you wanted but I wanted to provide my additional feedback.
