Free Physical Viewer 16.2 - Find Comp functionality

I recently upgraded my free physical viewer from 16.0 to 16.2, and have found that when I use the 'Find By Name' functionality, a successful hit on a component no longer causes the viewer to zoom in tight to the part location - it sometimes doesn't zoom at all any more, making it hard to pick out the target part. Are there any settings to get this functionality back?

In the product this is controlled from Setup>User Preferences, UI group, then Zoom, clear the setting for "np_zoom_to_object", this could be the same for the Viewer.

Setup -> User Preferences does not exist in the viewer. Establishing the "np_zoom_to_object" variable using the 'set' command in the command window has no effect on the zoom behaviour (be it 'true', 'false', 'yes', or 'no'). Any other suggestions?

It looks like, in 16.2, you need to set the zoom level first, since the display will be changed so that the selected component will be at the centre of the canvas, or zoom in to where the centre of the canvas which will be where the selected component will be.

That's a pretty severe change in functionality that doesn't appear to be documented anywhere. I'm quite disappointed - hopefully I still have the installer for the 16.0 free viewer somewhere so I can roll back. Having an idea where a component is on the layout negates (at least in my view) a lot of the usefulness of the 'find' function ... sigh

Having had a play with this, it would appear that the functionality has changed from the previous release and the behaviour is inconsistent at best, since the zoom that you get depends upon whether or not this is the first pick and which component preceeded the next pick. Time to get this reported for further investigation!
