The footprint is assign be added the footprint name in the property field: PCB Footprint in the capture part.

You create the footprint in Allegro.

    Ajay,

Foot prints for Orcad layout and Allegro are different.  In  allegro, footprints are having  .dra  extention, and you can find them in the Root directory\share\pcb\pcb_lib\symbols.

Before create the netlist you need to assign the proper footprint in PCB footprint property. All components will be having some standard footprints. Select the right one and create the netlist.

    thanks,

    Prasanna

Thanks for your reply. Now I am able to create netlist by assigning proper footprint from allegro without error. Since I am a new user I have some more doubts. Hope you may spare some time for these also.

Now while creating net list if the schematic is made in Orcad capture which logic we have to select? Cadence or others?.

In  allegro lay out which are the major layers required for PCB fabrication? How we can seee it one by one?

How we can  add signal layers to a multilayer board?.

How it is possible to change the track from one layer to other while putting tracks?

You should type in command window as: x * *  Where the 1st * is the position of x-axis and 2nd * is the position of y-axis which you want to place the pin. Hope this helps.

    Regards,
    Shiva.
