Harmony (Ohio/PTC) on 16.2

Is anybody using Harmony from Ohio Design/PTC on 16.2? If you are, how did you get it to work. From all indications, PTC will not be updating the code every time Cadence makes an upgrade and since it's in binary the user can't update it. Thanks in advance for any help.

    What platform are you on?

We are using it in 16.2 on the Sun Solaris 10 platform.  We had no issue having startup and run.  The commands all work.  The users are still able make use of the functionality it offers.

However, we have uncovered a rather annoying issue with the licensing.  The licensing code spawns a process on the client and this particular piece of code is not certified to run on Solaris 10, a prerequisite for 16.2.  If this process is left running and the user attempts to log off, other process don’t close cleanly and the user is left with what we call the “White Screen of Death”.  They are unable to login.  The only course of action is to reboot the box.  We have instructed the users to kill this process before logging off, or face the consequences.

You are quite right in that it is now unsupported. We are exploring other courses of action obtain relief from this annoying issue.

    Regards,
    Charlie

Found out what the problem was. Was testing Allegro 16.2 and CAM350 V10 on the test PC at the same time. When CAM350 was loaded it added 2 lines of data to the allegro.ilinit file and it deleted the last line, load( "c_ohio_products.il" "ohio" ), Added this line back in and Harmony is now working. Will contact the Downstream folks to resolve ths problem.
