Is there a way in Concept to specify which alt symbol to use in Allgro for a given part automatically?

If memory serves me correctly in Part Developer specify your default part as the jedec_type then your alternatives as alt symbols. This will be the default one chosen when you get to Allegro.

Although I haven't tried it, I heard you can add the property JEDEC_TYPE to your schematic symbol and make its value the name of your alternate symbol.

Our PTF file fills out both PACK_TYPE and JEDEC_TYPE columns with the same, default, footprint name. Then the ALT_SYMBOLS column has all the alternate footprint names for that part (the alt symbols are enclosed in parenthesiswith semicolons separting each alt symbol). Works for us.
