how to draw a line in Concept HDL?

A basic question, may be silly:

How to draw a line in Conecept HDL? Not signal, just a line like it in Orcad capture.

There is only a circle tool button on Concept HDL.

LIne is useful to draw some tables and other notes, we also need we rectangle tool.

    Hi,

Just "draw wire" and do not assign a net/signal  on it. I think that's all.

    Regards

    Hi, Ahmet:

I don't think so, property and color are not different, also the cross piont will be placeed a dot automatically, deleting such dot will lead to generating connection error.

    Hi Peter,

As I understand you want to draw just a line. I attached an image of a wire drawn like a line but when you look at the attribitues you can see this line is a wire without a signal name on it . And if you want you can change its color you can do by picking up a color. And if you want to draw a rectangle you need to draw 4 lines.

Note : the line you see is   with the blue wire is a patterned - - - .

    Hi, Ahmet:

Thanks for showing this. they are still wire connection and will create dot. I think this is last choice if there is really no line tool. but Circle tool is ok.  Concept HDL is 16.01 now, if there is no line tool, I can not imagine. Such fuction should be ready in 1.0 version  of any other schematic tools. All engineers and our local FAE can not find line tool in DHDL16.01.

I saw you are using this tool, do you do inter-page connection check that there is no off-page symbol on it? We enounter several deadly connection errors in several projects becuase of numerous shamtic pages. this tool simply connect all together if they are same name. off-page symbol has no connection purpose.

    Hi Peter,

Yes you are right. This line still a signal but doesn't create any errors and you may use it like a line as I did. I have been using DEHDL 16.2 the latest one. There is still no line tool :( . I have attached an AVI file for you in the zip file. If you examine this video you can realize that you can use the wire as a line as well as a signal. Only pin connections require the signal name. If you draw  a wire thrugh a pin you must assign a signal name on it otherwise you should not. The dots are just a visual point.

     I wish this helps.

Actually in the learning HDL I have seen many issues like this. This schematic tool isn't a perfect one but it is flexible and effective .

I have used Altium Designer Schematic and from the visual point of view it  is perfect.

    Regards

    Ahmet
