How to merge two electrical layers into one on Allegro PCB?

Gurus,

Please tell me how to merge two electrical layers into one on Allegro step by step.

I have an Allegro design file which was translated from another CAD format. The design have more layers than actual, for the surface layer, it has two separated layers; one consists of ETCH (traces and shapes) and VIA, the other one consists of PIN, VIA and additional shapes. Those two layers should be merged into one for actual design.

I would like to merge these layers into one on Allegro. Do you know how to?

Regards,

TA

You have a couple of options. 1. Select shapes and use zcopy to copy the shapes from one layer to another. Select cline tracks and RMB change to layer. Vias (if they are PTH and not blind/buried are on all layers anyway. This would manually merge the two layers into one. Could be a slow process. Option 2 would be to make a sub drawing of one of the layers (File - export subdrawing) select the items and save the file. Then in a text editor edit the layers (change inner1 to inner2 etc). Then import the sub drawing and then items would be on the same layer

    Steve-san,

Thanks!! Your option 1 seems tough, but option 2 may work well for me. I will try.
