Allegro / Cadence PCB Editor symbol modifications

I have Orcad/Cadence 16.01.  I start PCB Editor and then open a symbol.

Is there a way to change a shape or rectangle?  For example, lets say there is a Top layer Silkscreen rectangle.   I want to change its position and its shape and its line thickness.
I have been just deleting the old and adding a new.

Also,  I'm confused by the choices with regard to adding an element like silkscreen or assembly elements.  For example, lets say I want to create a "Silkscreen Top" Rectangle.  I can click ADD ->Rectangle, or I can Click SHAPE-> Rectangle, or I can click ADD -> Line and draw one.   For each the interface is different.  Meaning some allow the line thickness to be set, or fill or no fill,  fill type.   I'm not sure which to use and if the final result, when it comes to generating art work, is the same.

Going back to my first question, the ability to make changes seems driven by the method used to create the element.  For example, attempts to change line thinness on a non-filled rectangle fail.

I also have the same question about changing the size of a rectangle.  Both a filled and not filled rectangle.  This question you forgot to answer.  Good answers on the others.

    Thanks
