PSPICE Simulation Error Message: Devices Failed to Converge

 Hi,

I am trying to run a simulation on a triac circuit that can switch to either 24VAC or Ground.  The problem that I have is that PSPICE wants MT1 of the triac to be grounded.  If I ground MT1, PSPICE will simulate the circuit.  However, this leads to an incorrect representation of the circuit I am trying to simulate.  Sure, if I wanted to switch to ground, it would be the correct output, however, the simulation would not tell me if the triac is actually being triggered.  Also, if I did that, when I wanted to switch to 24VAC, I would only see a ground level signal which is incorrect.  Any advice would be appreciated.

This question should really be in the PCB Design forum.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

How have you tested and validated he model for the triac?  Most common problem I run into is bad models.  Make the most simple circuits possible to test it for expected behaviors.

    Hi ,

For Convergence Problem ,Try this :Simulation Settings->Options and Enable Auto Converge Option.

    Regards,
