how to delete a rectangle

hi, i'm creating a new package symbol, and i have a problem. I have placed a rectangle and now i can't delete it. I have already done the package symbol but i can't use it because i can't delete the rectangle. This rectangle was added by clicking in the add menu, and in the rectangle option.

     The rectangle is a "shape". Ensure that you have "Shapes" enabled (checked) in the Find Filter when you are in the delete command.
