Reuse Module

 HI,

I need to do some reuse module. I don't found a lot of documentation on this, and the one I found is based on Allegro Design Entry HDL and I use Allegro Capture CIS. Also, I Thought that the example is too complicated in the document I found.

I have found some instruction on Orcad Help, but it doesn't work 100% . I explain my problem. I have made the .mdd with Allegro PCB Editor and I made the module (I think) with Orcad Capture CIS. When I made a new project, to integrate them, I can import the module. I made the netlist and I open the .brd. But, in PCB Editor, when I want to place the parts, I have all the partsin the sections : Components by Ref Dev. But they should be in : Module instance. What I do wrong???Do someone have some good documentation on reuse module?

Thanks!

Make sure you have Performance option license with you..also save the module as design_schematic1.mdd...(i.e. design is ur .dsn file & schematic1 is the one which ur page is present)

      Thnx

Well, I did have the performance Option Licence and I also save  the module as .mdd

This part is OK, but after, when I tried to use my module, it works in Orcad, but not in Allegro. In allegro, the piece are imported all alone and not in module instance.... Maybe I do someting wrong, but I don't know what...

whether we can able to map the constraint setting of module file(*.mdd) to main board while importing module in main board.. whether it takes places automatically?. In my board,i am importing a module but the constraint setting was ignored and i am endup with many DRC errors. Is there any solution for this?

If the constraints are in the mdd file then you could go to Constraint Manager and use File - Export - Technology File and export the constraints out, then in the board file where you are using the module use File - Import - Technology File. If they are not in the mdd file you could get them from the board file you made the module from.
