Shape with Rounded Corners

Hi,

Is there a way to create a shape with rounded corners in a single step?  I know the 1) create shape then 2) Edit Boundary method that requires users to define arc begin/end points but this is for create a shape symbol (ssm) and can be quite tedious especially when you do this all day long (as a librarian).  Are there short-cuts to this?

Using Allegro PCB Editor XL v16.2 with hotfix..

Thanks

    Hello,

I would create a Dynamic shape then change the shape type to Static inside of a design file (.brd) and use sub-drawing to cut and paste your static shape into your shape symbol.   Dynamic shapes automatically add fillets to the sharp corners of the shape and changing the shape type to Static preserves the fillets as arcs.

Inside of the Symbol Editor (Shape, Package, Mechanical, etc) you do not have the ability to add a Dynamic shape with the automatically fillets so you will need to do it in a design file (.brd) and simply cut and paste it into a symbol .dra.

    Hope this helps,
    Mike Catrambone
