Manual void

Hello

I'm using a pushbutton switch in my design. The switch contact pattern in the symbol makes contact with the membrane when pushed. The switch in sitting on a copper pour on the top layer. I know that I need to add a manual void in the copper pour larger than the switch pattern to prevent shorting to the copper pour (Gnd) when the pushbutton is pushed. I would like to some how put this step (adding the manual void) in the padstack or symbol. If I forget to do this then the boards would be scrap. Can someone suggest how to do this.

thanks

Voids can't be added to padstacks. You can however add a route keepout to the symbol so that you know to add a void due to the DRC if a static shape is used or if a dynamic shape a void would be added automatically.

You could also create a pad with a custom shape.  I have attached a screen shot of a keypad that may be similar to what you are looking for.
