Packager question: fwd-annotating injected properties to Allegro

Greetings all,

Usually I hang out on the PCB SKILL forum but this question requires a larger audience.

Part of the packaging process is to merge the logical data from the schematic with the physical info from the PTF file to produce a bunch of cryptic pst...dat files which then serve as inputs for importing into Allegro. I need to produce a report similar to the 'concise netlist report ' (.../packaged/dialcnet.dat)  but expanded with the injected properties from the PTF file, properties to the right of the equals-sign like VALUE, DESCRIPTION, JEDEC_TYPE.

I think this enhanced report would be much easier to create from inside Allegro after imporation, as long as   =all=  the properties make the trip ie. schematic properties like PIN_NAME and physical properties like JEDEC_TYPE.

So my questions to the group are: which settings must I (un)set in the packagr and how do I go about ((un)setting them? I haven't dealt with PXL in 8+ years and am way rusty -last I recall there was a packager options file with a hundred choices.

 TIA,

 Chris Walters

Sounds like you want a report that contains all (key + injected) properties.  If yes, why go to Allegro PCB Editor?  Just run the Packager from schematic, then export a BOM report from within schematic/Project Manager - you can select all properties you wish to be exported to the BOM report.  Then massage the BOM report to suit your needs...
