Edit board outline

Hello, I am very new to PCB Designer and I have what is probably a very easy question. I have a board outline created and I need to modify it (make a notch on one side). If this were a typical CAD program I would just add the line segments that correspond to the notch and then use a trim command to make the board edge become the notch line segments, but I can't seem to come up with any way to do a trim. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any assistance. Matt

     Outline may be locked or "fixed" as it is known in Allegro...

    Select shape...Shape->Edit Boundary

    Right mouse "Done" when finished.

    I support that would work if my board outline was a shape, but my outline was created as a bunch of line segments with Add->Line, they don't seem to qualify as a shape.

     Use Edit->Vertex instead...you can add/delete/move to your heart's content...

     May be easier if you post up a brd file (zip it first) or send some JPG screen shots...

     Ugh. I've seen many designs where the bunch of lines didn't actually connect all the way around, caused us all sorts of problems later on.

    Having the board outline as an unfilled shape has many advantages, one of which is pouring planes where you want the edges rebated some small distance from the physical edge - then you just copy the board outline shape, shrink it by a small percentage then place it as a filled shape on the layer of your choice. Zoom zoom.
