Autorouting nets

Hi all,

Is it possible to route nets that have same propagation delay and relative propagation delay of the routed net in that routed manner with the specctra autorouter with .do file ??

For eg:- If i've D0..D7,and i've routed D0  manually..the D1..D7 nets obey the same propagation delay and relative propagation delay of the routed D0 net.Is it possible to route the other unrouted nets using do file in the same routed manner as the D0 net??Can anyone plss xplain?

Thanx

Neha

First, we never say "if I've" to mean "if I have" which indicates possession or a state of being... but that's another topic...

It is possible to never reach a solution using this method.  The reason is you might have routed D0 such that one or more other nets can never acheive this length through routing.  You need to try routing the group with relative propagation delays on all eight nets.  Then you can go back in and set min/max lengths.  Also, try opening up your tolerance on matching just in case..

    Hi,

But this D0 net is the longest net among all nets. The D0 net is routed diagonally but when other nets are routed they take up a different way say only in st. lines. Is there any option to autoroute all the nets as if the D0 is routed.I mean is there any do command to control the routing path of the nets eg:- route selected nets like D0 or something like that...?

    Thanx

    Neha

To my Knowledge - Autorouter can control the length, layers used for routing, use of number of vias, parallelism. Only diff pairs are routed following the other net.
It can't route as similar as other net, reason - pinouts may vary, obstacles in the routing path encountered will change, spacing violations to route.
