Some strange behavior with dual screen on windows system?

Hi I am pretty new to PCBI always used orcad layout in the  past.

NowI  am trying the new 16.3 PCB software in demo mode with teh sample desig to get a feeling how to use the program.

I have a dual screen windows XP system with a pimary 17 "screen and a 2nd 24"screen I would like to use the layout editor on my 2nd screen.

I can open the PCB program in demo mode.

When I drag the PCB window to the 2nd screen I can see the board and the graphics, but for some reason I cannot edit anything. When I click on a part nothing happens and also trying to route a trace is impossible.

When I move the window back to the primary screeen everything seems to work again..

    Hi

I've seen this behaviour that happens not only in demo mode.

Only the window frame, title menu, buttons etc are shown.

The Design Window fails to refresh.

    No idea

I have the same problem when using my laptop with a monitor attached. The only work around I have found is going into the display settings and assigning the monitor to be the primary display and my laptop the secondary.

The downfall is any design opened up on the laptop screen does not refresh, but the design on the monitor works normal.

I have seen a similar problem with dual screen monitors and video players. The video player window frame was visible on the second monitor but not the contents.

The solution was to update the video card driver.

This may not fix your problem, but it's worth a try.

I tried this morning with the demo modeof capture and this operates normally. I see everything as on the primary screen and I can do all normal actions and edits with everything refreshed on the screen so this is likely more a cadence PCB bug than a driver issue. (I cannot easily update bij driver as this PC is to well protectetd by the IT dept.)

But all programs that I open on the 2nd screen without problems
