OrCAD/PCB Editor 16.2 – unfilled pads in the footprint

1. Pads unfilled

I’m creating a footprint using the wizard, the pads show unfilled outlines.  How do I make it to show the filled pads?  I’ve tried all the options in display/color.

2. My own library path

OrCAD/PCB Editor uses  C:\OrCAD\OrCAD_16.2\share\pcb\pcb_lib\symbols as my default library path.  How do I add my own library path so it will search the customized libraries BEFORE using the default?  I do like to keep the default libraries though.  Additionally, how do I specify the additional footprint libraries in Capture so it knows where to grab the footprint when doing forward annotation?

     1. In addition, the command is called "display_enhance", if you need to use it in a script. Type "scriptmode +e" in the Command Window to see the commands you execute pop up in the Command Window or form statusbar.

     2.  Use the env var "CHDL_LIB_INST_DIR" with the value of your library path. Footprints used for preview in the Component Browser are at %CDS_SITE%\footprints (note env vars and directory separators shown are for Windows). All of this is further customizable, but that should get you started.

     You may also add a PTF file to a project using the Part Table tab of the Project Setup form (Tools > Setup) in Project Manager.
