Swap Parts

Dear All,

How can I swap parts  in Allegro Design Entry ?

For Eg:- In my first sheet , I have decaps (100 Nos) of  a particular value : 0.01 uF.
Now I have to replace all with 0.1uF.

What is the best way to do this ,other than cut & paste one by one ?

Can I select the decaps then all can be replaced with a new part at a shot.

Please advise. How is the general practise in Allegro Design Entry ?

    if their footprint are same and they differs only in value

    1. in Capture try Ctrl+F (find) then type c? (c1-c9) or C?? (C10-c99) or C*

    2. in the Find window (at the bottom of the page) select all the caps with LMB (left mouse button) + shift

    3. RMB -> edit properties

    4. look for value column in Browse spreadsheet.

    5. alter the value of the first row eg. 0.01uF -> 0.1uF

    6.click on the altered value -> copy

    7. select the cells at the same column below the first one with LMB+shift then paste

    then use "replace cache"

    in the project manager look for Design Cache.

    LClick on the part you wish to alter eg. "C"

    RClick -> replace cache

    If you’re using DEHDL (used to be called ConceptHDL), and not Capture,

    then select Tools> Global Update. This will allow you to replace all parts

    of one type (and with specific value) with another part (with different values.
