Working with Foldaway tabs in 16.x

Hi All,

Can anybody share the best practices of working with Foldaway tabs (Options,Find and Visibility) in Allegro 16.X.
It's bit time consuming if compared with 15.X Versions.

Thanks in Advance
RMB.

    Hi,

I have been working with 16.3 right now and in my opinion I found it very flexible. I have 22" lcd screen and 3 tabs are always on top. So I can see the 3 tabs at the same time. Hiding them will not be very efficient way I think.

    Regards

I park mine just outside of the main Allegro box.  I find the flyouts very annoying as compared to the stacked tabs in 15.x.

This consumes some screen space but on a widescreen monitor I do have plenty of room to still edit.  On a laptop it's not practical to park them so I let them fly out...

    Hi

I find that if you're an experienced user with a good configuration then you'll probably not want the panels to be shown.

However if you're just started using PCB Editor I would recommend that they're fixed (use the nail for this)

I would also recommend a 24" or above monitor - this leaves good room for both having the panels open and also a good working canvas.,

    Best regards

    Ole

Interesting. I only have15 years on Allegro so I am probably not "experienced" as your claim states that "experienced userwith good configuration...<snip>"

So I wonder, since there must another way, what did I learn differently that you did not that let's you get away without using the panels?

Surely you can't be more efficient with flyout tabs all the time?

Or am I stuck in pre-16 mode?

If you have the luxury of dual monitors, I like to pin them, then move them over to my second monitor so that they are always in view.
