archive
archive over 15 years ago

Hi all,

I am running into this issue. I install the new allegro into my new computer Window 7 pro. Allegro / Capture (schematic)

working fine. Only problem is my CIS can not generate netlist. Please help me out.

First off, Windows 7 is not currently officially supported by Cadence for any of their tools. Having said that it does work.

The problem that you have is the same issue that afflicts Vista installations. With UAC on, the default, you cannot create an Allegro (PCB Editor) netlist until the netlist components get registered and UAC prevents this. The cure, documented in KPNS, is to right click on the Capture / Capture CIS shortcut and select "Run as Administrator", then create the netlist. Once the netlist has been created running as Administrator, Capture / Capture CIS can be run with normal rights and the netlister will work - since the netlister components will have been registered.
