Importing .dxf into Allegro 16.2

 All,

I'm trying to import a .dxf file into Allegro 16.2. I've never had to do this before so i'm having some difficulty. What do I have to set up before importing the .dxf? My attempt was to create a new project and put an outline in. I then imported the .dxf and the viewlog says I successfully imported  the file but I don't see anything. Viewlog says a .tmp was created but I can't find that either. Any help in pointing me in the right diirection will be great.

I was able to get around my lack of being able to make the .dxf work but now I gotta get it done. I have a very simple board that when I import the .dxf, I had a series of layers and I chose BOARD GEOMETRY-->OUTLINE to import. I got partial data which only included a single line. Just for grins, I saved to a different .brd file and then imported again, only this time I chose BOARD GEOMETRY-->DIMENSION. This time I got the  what appeared to be the complete file. Okay, I thought I would simply be able to Z copy the lines to BOARD OUTLINE and get rid of all the unnecessary stuff. Wrong again. What am I doing wrong? My direct email is rscott@nexergy.com. I have picts that might help forum members to help out.
