Move symbol/component to other layer

Hi

I'm a newbie in OrCAD PCB Designer 16.0 (have used protel for some years) and really needs some help now !.

I got all my components on the board, but not finally placed. I got to have some components on the bottom side but i can't figure out how to get them moved to other layers. It also seems impossible to choose layer when doing a manual symbol place.

Can anybody help ?

Either use edit - mirror and select the parts or whilst placing try RMB - Mirror or hover over the part until it highlights (use tab key to toggle selection) then RMB mirror.

    Hi

I would recommend you use Place->Manually as long as you only need to move one component at a time. You can click "Hide" in this dialog to get rid of the GUI. Then selecting a single component will move it and you have mirror and rotate available on the right mouse button menu.

You can increase productivity setting up a few shortcuts

Use m to mirror component to the other layer: funckey m pop mirror

at the same time you can rotate with 90 degree using r: funckey r iangle 90

     Best regards

    Ole

There are some other ways to mirror while placing....

In the options box, you can click on "Mirror" and all parts you place from that point will be mirrored....

Or you can set up a preference in the Setup->Design Parameters

I use the right mouse "mirror" command over all the other suggestions but each has its merits.
