How to associate symbols / footprints in standard libraries

Hello,

I work on Allegro 16.3 and I would want to know how I can have footprints associated with components (I have installed all libraries provided in the DVD...). I have finished my schematic and would want to associate symbol with footprints ...  I have packaged my design and when I want to place my components in PCB editor, there is no padstack / footprints associated with ?

So, are footprints present in the provided libraries or is it just symbols for schematic ?

Is there something particular to configure ?

Thanks in advance for your help

I forget to mention that in the browser there is footprint folder, but on the right a message tell me this : " RC05 not found in PSMPATH", there is also the same warning in the log when I package my design... what does it mean ?and how can I configure it ? andwhere can I find SMD standard packages for resistor like 0402, 0603, 0805... ?

I think we need to make sure your directories are set up correctly first in Allegro.  These settings are used by Allegro and PackagerXL to associate footprints with schematic symbols.

Have you developed any footprints for Allegro that are used by this project?

Please look at the following command and reply with your settings for padpath and psmpath:

    set

(see attached jpeg image for details).

Do you have symbols (.psm files) and padstacks (.pad) in those paths?

(Si vous voudriez comminiquer en français je peux parler français mais je connais pas très biens tous les mots pour l'ordinateur et windows.)

Hello and thanks a lot for your help.

Well I don't have the same settings as yours as you can see in the attached file and I checked the folders that mentioned in my settings they are empty ! when I made the installation, I use default parameter for directories and I first intall licence, products and Libraries...

I have C:\Cadence\SPB_16.3\share\pcb\pcb_lib\symbols where there are many ".dra", ".psm" and ".pad" files...

I have also noticed that there may be something wrong in the path ("footprint not found in PSMPATH") for design entry HDL (as you can see on the image below, you're probably right, it may be a wrong configuration of path. How can I do ?

    thanks
