OrCAD version backward compatibility

I just installed OrCAD Capture v16.2 and would like to remove numerous old versions.

Is it true that if create a .DSN in v16.2, a client running v9.0 can still use the file structure ?

    Yes, for the most part, except that somewhere between v14.2 and v15.2, Cadence added the ability to move pin number/label independant of the pin for a (Capture) symbol - if this is done for a part in a design (.dsn) then you will not be able to open the .dsn in v9.x until you perform File > Save As > select "Remove Pin Label...or something like that" box in File Save As dialog.
