Text Line Space Not as Documented

Hey everybody,

I am using OrCAD 16.2 PCB Designer.

The Allegro PCB Editor documentation for the DefineText command states that Line Space is defined as "the distance between the bottom of the characters in one line to the top of the characters in the line below."

However, I'm not seeing that.  Instead, what I see is that the Line Space is "the distance between the bottom of the characters in one line to the bottom of the characters in the line below."

For example, if I define a text block with the following characteristics (units are mm):

  TEXT_BLOCK# 16
  font:            ANSI
  height:          2.0000
  width:           1.0000
  photoplot width: 0.0000
  spacing:         0.5000
  line spacing:    2.0000

Then I "Add Text", using the above-defined text block, entering  the following text: EE<enter>EE<F6>.  What I end up seeing is the bottom of one line of "EE" directly touching the top of the next line (image attached).  My grid is 0.1mm.

Has anybody else noticed this or am I just crazy?

Cheers,

Allan M.

It's working correctly... just make your line spacing larger than the character..say 2.1mm in this example.

you can actually make line spacing smaller than a character and they will overwrite...not sure that that's useful but that's how it works.
