Constraint manager in Free Physical Viewer v16.3

I'm using the Allegro Free Physical Viewer version 16.3 on Windows XP 64 bit.   I am following these steps from the online documentation PDF:

Generating a Constraint Report
1. Run the cns_show command.
2. Click on a single object to select it.
-or-
Drag a window around a pair of objects to select them.
The Show Constraints window appears with the constraint information for the object or
pair of objects you selected.
3. In the Constraint Hierarchy table, click the blue colored text in a Location cell to jump
to the object in the design window.
4. In the Constraint Hierarchy table, click the blue colored text in any of the object cells to
open the corresponding worksheets in Constraint Manager.

When I try step 4, the Constraint Manager does not open and I get the following error messages in the Command window:

E- Command not found: _cmgr
E- Can't find window; cmgr
E- Command not found: _cm disableFetchAll
E- Command not found: _cm newView ( worksheet 78: 94: 95: 96: )
E- Command not found: _cmgr_xprobe highlight net XMC_PER_P_4

Any help?  My goal is to look at all the constrains for the design using the Free Physical Viewer.  Is this possible?

Windows XP 64-bit is not a supported environment for the Cadence tools.

The Constraint Manager requires a licensed product, like PCB Editor or Physical Viewer (licensed version)

    Hi

The free physical viewer does not contain the Constraint Manager which is why you get that message.

In order to get the Constraint Manager you either need the Physical Viewer (not free) or some flavor of PCB Editor depending on the types of constraints you need to verify and look at.

If you have a SI tool like SigXplorer then that license will actually include the Physical Viewer which has a full Constraint Manager with complete review functionality.

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards

    Ole

The Free Viewer download site claims to support XP 64-bit:

    Allegro/SIP/MCM FREE Viewer 16.3

    • These viewers work with all versions of Allegro from 15.x to 16.3.
    • Supported on Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP and Windows 2000 both 32 and 64 bit.
    • Recommended hardware is 512MB of memory and 500MB of disk.
    • To install the Allegro FREE Physical Viewer, click on the download.

However, it looks like I'm out of luck with the Constraints Manager.

     Thanks for the info.

Hi. I installed the Allegro Free Physical Viewer v.16.3 and I keep getting the error "SPMHOD-36:Cannot open drawing. The database type is not appropriate for viewing this product."

I'm trying to open a "*.brd" file. Any clues ?

    Thanks,

    Shubha

Where can I locate information about this non-Free "Physical Viewer"?  It doesn't appear in their products list.  I would like to be able to view and confirm constraints entered and used by our PCB design house.
