Allegro PCB Design HDL

Newbie here with first post.  I’m an old Orcad user.  I’m now using Allegro HDL.  I’m trying to add a line to my schematic but can’t make it happen.  I add an arc and when I make it very flat I get an error that says use a line (but how?).  I’m starting to believe I actually can’t add lines or rectangles the way I used to in Orcad.  Does anyone know if there is a way to add lines and rectangles to a schematic or should I quite trying to figure out how to do this.  I’m disappointed; I used lines and rectangle a lot in Orcad to add all sorts of useful information into the schematic.
