Translation of Schematic Files

 All,

I have a project created in Altium. I'd like to translate and re-create in CIS. I understand CIS schematics can be opened in Altium so we must be able to do it the other way.

Cheers,

There are some 3rd party tools to do this but they cost $$$.  Cadence does not have an Altium translator.

You *might* try to do an EDIF if you feel lucky :)  I don't...

I thought that might be the case. I doubt also that Altium can open CIS schematics. "Someone" told me they could with no evidence :)

    Thanks,

Altium translation is *near* perfect.  Some very slight oddities that can be cleaned up in minutes otherwise a 100% correct translation.

Now their Allegro translator on the other hand has bugs but *most* translations are foolproof as well.

Elgris Technologies (www.elgris.com)has a schematic translator it sells/or service from Altium Designer to OrCAD Capture.

     Is it free?
