How to copy / paste logo from one file to another

Hi,

Does Allegro PCB support copy/paste?  I have a completed design which has some shapes used for a company logo.  I'd like to copy that silkscreen information into another board file and don't see any way to accomplish this simple task.

 Thanks for any help,

 Alan

Chances are that your silkscreen objects are part of a mechanical shape, File>Export>Libraries will get the libraries exported. Add the symbol, probably a BSM to your library path and you should be able to place it as a library part through Place>Manually.

If they really are "just shapes" in you design, set the colours so that only those objects are visible, then use File>Export>Sub-Drawing, pick the items and an origin and save the "CLP" file. To get this into another design, place the CLP file in the same directory as the design and File>Import>Sub-Drawing, pick the sub-drawing from the list.

Making a library part from the sub-drawing might make it easier to make the logo available to other designs.
