DRC not flagging via pads that have 0 clearance

My spacing is set to 6mils. I have two via pairs that have pads touching. The fab house rules check found them. I can't remember if there is a rules matrix and maybe I messed it up sometime in the past.

Have you tried checking the constraint manager? It's likely there is just a setting that you need to change. This seems absurb, but did you have DRCs turned on?

    Cheers,

Yes only these two vias are a problem. It appears they are superflous vias. They net to ground and there are two vias situated along the same routing track. I can put them on top of each other or even on a grounded pad that's associated with the connection. Yes this is absurd so I just deleted the extra via but you'd think it would be an error.

Sounds like you don't have same net spacing enabled. Check the settings in Constraint Manager, same net spacing Cset. There is an options menu that needs to be enableed, plus under modes you need to enable the same net spacing there as well.

    stellar,

The Same Net DRC check is Off by default for all new designs so make sure you remember to enable the DRC Mode if you want these types of conditions to be flagged.  This check is always the first thing I turn on when starting a new design if you turn it on a design that has already been started you may have more DRCs errors than you care to deal with.

    Good luck,
    Mike Catrambone
