Capture CIS/Allegro XL operating under Win7x64?

I am being forced to change to a 64 bit O/S and applications because of the complexity of some RF simulations that I do. (Running Agilent ADS, CST Microwave Studio etc). From the datasheets of Cadence I read that the requirements for eg. Capture CIS is "32 bit Pentium 4", but nothing about if it will work under a 64bit O/S. Up till now I have been running CaptureCIS and Allegro XL under WinXP32.

Because of the hardware platform Asus P6TWS & i7, I had to slipstream the XP32 installer disk in order to make the installation work with the drivers for the MB. This I lack the competence for when it comes to the 64 bit version of XP. I will have to install W7x64 (for which the hardware was designed for anyway ;-)

If Cadence products won't run under 64 bit O/S, what would be the best alternative; DualBoot? Two computers?

    · Windows XP Professional SP2&SP3 (32 Bit only)

    · Windows 2008 Server (32 and 64 Bit)

    · Windows Vista SP2 (32 and 64 bit) except Home Basic

    · Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit)* (UAC turned OFF)

I run 16.3 on win7x64 with only one problem (so far) that is easily fixed. It has to do with the interaction between the tool and aero. Tooltips, hover highlights, popups and your infinite cursor will give you headaches in pcb editor.

To fix just find your allegro.exe >> click properties>>compatibility >> check disable desktop composition
