Hi, I have created Library in Orcad Layout and now I'm using PCB editor and I would like to know if it's possible to export Layout library to PCB editor. Thanks.

In Layout, use Tools Catalog>Create to create a MAX file that contains all the parts, then translate this MAX file in PCB Editor. Note that a MAX file can only contain a maximum of 40 drills.

Layout will potentially have different parameters for Plane and Inner Layers, you need to check these since PCB Editor will only use "Default Inner" in designs.

Once you have translated the MAX file as oldmouldy has said you will have a BRD file in PCB Editor. Use File - Export Libraries to generate all the PCB Editor equivalent footprints, pads etc from the file. Save these into a directory and then point PCB Editor at this location using the psmpath and padpath. This is defined under setup - user preferences - paths - library.

Hi thanks for your answer Steeve and Oldmouldy, but I have another problem. I export my PCB libraries and save the directory, then I go to setup - user preferences but I don't find paths and library (I'm using Orcad PCB editor 16.0). I change in setup - user preferences-Design_paths psmpath and padpath, and when I want to create my netlist I have this error.ERROR (SPCODD-47): File Z:\Stage_CAO\Stage CAO\thermomètre\allegro/pstxprt.dat could not be loaded, and the packaging operation did not complete. Check the pxl.log file for the errors causing this situation and package the design again.ERROR (SPCODD-382): Error at line 281 in file Z:\Stage_CAO\Stage CAO\thermomètre\allegro/pstxprt.dat. Error loading the parts list files#5 Error [ALG0036] Unable to read logical netlist data.I think the error is with the libraries because it doesn’t found but I'm not sure. Thank you for your answer.
