You didn't specify which version of Allegro. In 16.2 Allegro introduced a placement replication feature which would do what you need. Jerry wrote a blog about it a while back:

If you can't use placement replication you could use Allegro clipboard functionality (File >Export (Import) >Subdrawing to accomplish a replication.

The placement replication feature is only available in 16.2 and up releases. If you are using an earler release you would need to use the clipboard/subdrawing functionality. To use the clipboard functionality you would:

Place all of the components for the 'seed' circuit.

    Enable visibility for those components.

File >Export >Subdrawing; In the Options tabe ensure all are checked.

    Window around the 'seed' circuit.

Allegro will prompt you to pick a location point. I'd suggest using pin 1 of a component.

A 'Clipboard filename' GUI will be presented to save the filename of the clipboard file. Save it with a name you'll remember.

    Select File >Import >Subdrawing.

Select the clipboard file you saved.

Place the circuit where you want. The origin will be the location point you specified earlier. Review the logfile and then close it.

Select Logic >Assign Refdes. In the options tab type, or use the epsilon (...), to add the refdes you want to add to the component and then select the component.

Using this method you can keep the orientation of replicated components and connections.
