Allegro crashes every time I try to save

so, I am really beginning to hate this software.  it has currupted my .sav file about 10 times today, and it has crashed countless times.  most of these are not a huge deal because I could just reopen the project and save after every minor change.  however, now my board file can't be saved (it can be opened, edited, ect).  every time I try to save, the whole application crashes.

does anyone know how I might recover this .brd file?  it has been a while since I made a backup and I am already on a tight schedule.

Thanks

If I remember right one of the other designers here had that problem and what we did was run DBdoctor. Then the file could be saved.

Have you tried contacting Cadence and seeing if they can recover it?

Sandy was right about dbfix.  That can usually do some good.

Another option is to export all your data from your corrupted board (File > Export > Sub-Drawing) and then read it into a new database that you've synched up with a schematic.  If doing this, be sure to save the designators & shape and via associations.

You should make sure to have your program up to date also. At one point I didn't have the newest hot fix and it kept crashing over and over. It seems to be much better after the hotfixes.
