Defining layers for artwork

Hi there, i'm in the process of trying to get my first ever board out to Gerber (Allegro 16.3).

We don't have a flow setup for this yet so i firtsly need to define the available films (in the artwork control film).

I built some of the footprints myself, but not all, so i'm not 100% sure which layers exist in this board. Can i dump a layer summary file or is there some function within Allegro PCB to do this?

Will there be layers that are not defined but exist in real life? For example if i compare it to IC layout we can have layout layers which combine to form a given mask.

Any help appreciated

Thanks

Stu

    Hi guys, will this work:

    • Tools->report
    • click New/Edit
    • Select database view: full geometry
    • select CLASS and SUBCLASS
    • Save to a file

    i can then view this file which seems to give me a whole list of layers, though does it report every layer?

    thanks

    Stu

     Use the Manufacture=>Artwork tool to view the layers. You can save them to a file and review it but that's not typical.
