Allegro Drawing Outline

Hi all,

I want to ask about Allegro PCB Editor. When you add line with BOARD_GEOMETRY-OUTLINE class-subclass in a new design and if you select ARC instead of LINE and if you draw some geometry different than rectangle or else it does not enclose a polygon. How can you draw a board outline with many arcs in their corners and allegro recognize as a closed loop polygon?  When drawing etches I have faced a similar process but in the TOOLS section there is a button DERIVE CONNECTIVITY and that button solves this kind of any nonlinearity.

Thank you

Ahmet

I have a Board Outline which is made up of lots of separate lines / arcs.

Using Shape -> Compose Shape select all the lines and Allegro will create a filled shape.

Edit -> Z-copy this shape to your Board Geometry / Outline Class / Subclass. Delete your original filled shape and you are left with a unfilled shape, a closed unfilled polygon.

You could draw with lines at 90 degrees and then use the manufacture->dimension->fillet command to change corners to arcs.

    Hi Keith

This method is very good (which is a SECRET tip of Allegro I beleive). Thank you very much. It works very well.

    Best regards

Is it possible to change the closed unfilled polygon width ?.
