Another assembly drawing question

Hi,

I'd like to define a mirrored assembly bottom film where all the texts are readable (not mirrored). How can I copy and flip the data from my original assembly bottom film? I created a custom (assy_bot) subclass in Manufacturing class. PCB Editor does not allow me to copy data between different classes.

Thanks

When I need to change items between different classes. I export the sub drawing into the .clp file, then open it in a notepad or wordpad and edit the class by replace command. So... If you want to change board geometry/assembly to manufacuring/assembly then you would search for BOARD GEOMETRY/ASSEMBLY_BOT then replace it with MANUFACTURING/ASSY_BOT. We use couple of different classes for assembly drawing so we have to do this for how many ever classes we have. Please let me know if it's not very clear. I can hopefully explain better.

And import the subdrawing back into the board after editing the text.

    Thank you Mstrghettorigg

I'd like to flip the entire assembly bottom indeed. What I did was to export the assembly bot view into a plt file and reimport it to my MANUFACTURE/assy_bot class. But unfortunatelly all the things went to MANUFACTURE/pen4 instead of assy_bot. Each text broke up to lines and pads to cotours (figure). My problem is that I can't change the subclass of figures.

Hello, I think that if you are to export the assembly shapes for component and reference numbers separately you may be able to achieve this. File/Export/Subdrawing then select all the assembly figures except the text. (Export using x 0 0 origin will make it easy to import) Repeat for Texts Open the .clp file in wordpad and search and replace the Class/subclass to requirement. (MANUFACTURE/assy_bot in your case) File/import/subdrawing and import the files. Then you can use the move command and and mirror geometry for the text. I think this is what you are looking for.

Put a class on drawing format and try again.  Works great.

I use MFG/ASSY_BOT to plan but DWG_FMT/ASSY_BOT to produce the plot for final.
