Assembly instructions for DNI parts

Hello All, I was wondering if anyone have a good way of making sure that the DNI part does not get mounted. Or basically have good assembly instructions so that there are no errors at the assembly house. We've had few cases where the DNI parts was mounted when the BOM instructed it to be DNI. I've thought about possibly just removing it from the X,Y data, but I'm afraid to make mistakes while editing the file manually. Anyone have a good procedure to make sure the boards are assembled correct? (We do send them assembly drawing, but it displays all parts) If you don't mind, could someone share what kind of assembly drawing they use? Thank you in advance.
