Passing part number from Capture to PCB Editor

I am having difficulty passing part numbers from capture to pcb editor.

Every part in my design has a part number associated with it (installed from a CIS database).

My allegro.cfg file has PART_NUMBER=YES in it at the top.  However, the footprint/refdes combos in PCB Editor do not have any part number associated with the.  This is a problem when I go to create my pick and place file.  Is there some setting that I am missing?

I have attempted to go to  Setup --> Property Definition to enter PART_NUMBER, but got an error message stating that that was a reserved property.

     After much banging of my head against the wall, I figured it out...

     For whatever reason, CIS was not properly mapping part number property to PART_NUMBER (even though the configuration file is set up to do so).  To work around this, I added the line

     Part Number=PART_NUMBER

    to allegro.cfg, AND left the line

    PART_NUMBER=YES

     It is important to have both lines.  Before, when I added the first line, I removed the second (YES) line -- which did not work.  I'm not sure if the order of the lines in the config file matters, but I have them arranged so that the Part Number=PART_NUMBER line is first.

    It is not necessary for footprints to have a Part Number label (unless you want it to be visible on the board) for this to work.
