hi, in our company it varies from 1-1.4mm for regularsilkscreen refdes,

for connectors and other special silkscreen (company logo etc) we use 2-3mm.

    sample for silkscreen refdes, font:

       ANSI
      height:          1.2000
      width:           0.7000
      photoplot width: 0.2000
      spacing:         0.2500
      line spacing:    1.5000

special silkcreen (eg made in japan)

     font:            ANSI
      height:          2.8000
      width:           2.3000
      photoplot width: 0.2000
      spacing:         0.2000
      line spacing:    3.2000

    hope this helps.

    cheers
