Minimum Aperture for Artwork Fill

Hello,

I have to use an old software that only can read vector based gerber RS274D. No problem to create that with Allegro. But dynamic shapes are always filled with 4mil lines. That creates huge gerber files and slows down the mentioned software.

I thought I can tell Allegro to use a different aperture by defining the "Minimum Aperture for Artwork Fill" to be, say, 10 mils. But that doesn't change anything whether done on global dynamic parameters or shape instance level. Maybe I missunderstood the meaning of this parameter? Is there a way to define the aperture used to fill a shape in RS274D?

 Thanks in advance

Michael

The way I understand it "Minimum Aperture for Artwork Fill" is the narrowest width of copper allowed in the shape.  For example if you had a minimum aperture set at 4 mils and you had two vias that were close to each other such that after voiding there would only be a 3 mil copper strip between them; it will void that area between the vias instead.  Unfortunately, I don't know the answer to your original question about how to set the minimum aperture for drawing a shape.
