component placement problem in PCB edditor

(windows 7 based system) the components of a netlisted project in the manual place mode of allegro pcb design gxl, are not displaying their graphics not any text associated. The same error is also being produced for all other library components viz. mechanical, formats symbols etc. the same project in a windows XP based system could be properly placed into the PCB board in Editor wihout errors or problems.

I have tried running both orcad CIS and allegro in the "administrator mode" in win 7 but with the same error.

In the placement window, for every component listed, the checkbox assoiated with it is not being displayed along with no graphics in the quickview window below and in the associated text preview the messages are "no text available". All the components in the capture schematic are being listed in the placement window.

The puzzling thing is that when the commad <place manual refdes U*( for e.g)> is typed in the command line certain components and mechanical symbols do get placed on the board but not all. At the same time no other placement modes (automatic) are working.

I would be glad for any advices regarding this issue....

You should download a recent  ISR where the Windows 7 High DPI font issue has been addressed.
