Layering

I'm running Orcad PCB Editor Basic. Can I add documenting layers to my design? I need a "comment" layer and a "drill drawing" layer. Are there options in Basic for that? I looked for a "layers" option, but didn't find one. Thank you in advance for your time.

    PCB Editor does not use the same layer concept as the old OrCAD Layout.  PCB Editor uses Classes and subclasses.  You will have to decide upon a "standard" for your company.  You can create the subclasses and save the file as a "start file" and then they will be there for everybody.

    Classes and subclasses and then plotted or not plotted depending upon how you set up your output (Gerber, DXF, plot, etc.)

    Think of "layers" in terms of the actual board, classes and subclasses in terms of documentation.
