OrCAD 16.3 PCB Editor User's Interface Setting Problem

Hi Everyone,

I am new to PCB Editor and just downloaded and installed the Demo version of the software from cadence.com on my laptops with Windows 7 and Vista. I am having with the PCB Editor GUI on both Operating Systems.

Whatever I changed such as Add Line, Place Parts, Add Shape, Move Part,  toggle grid on/off, ect... did not get updated on the board canvas until I hit the refresh button or zoom in/out the board. It did not show the dynamic of the process. For example, if I tried to move a part, it did not show the part being attached and moved along with the mouse cursor. I seemed that the part did not moved until I hit the refresh button or the zoom in/out of the board. This is very annoying since I did not see where the part was moved to.

Another problem was when I hovered the mouse over a part, it supposed to be hightlighted but it did not. Nothing happed.  If I pointed the mouse cursor to an empty area on the board and right click, (while not in any editing mode) a popup memu was supposed to appear but it did not.

I believe this is only a setting issue this I did not know about. Please help me solve this issue. Please!!!

Thanks,

Anthony

Windows Aero is the theme that makes windows 7 / vista more attractive. It gives a glass like appearance and 3d effects. but it requires some features. The help link how to disable is give below. but i am not sure this will find a solution to your problem. But try it, since Ejlersen said it. the help link that shows how to disable aero is given below. http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/disable-aero-on-windows-vista/ All the best.......... Have a nice day

I have disabled Windows Aero and it solved my problem. Thanks Rosh. Just curious if everyone had to disable Aero to make PCB Editor worked or just me? Anyway you and Ejlersen provided a big help. Thank you both very much.
