Snap clines to lines automatically

Greetings,

I'm working on a layaout that requires a very specific trace routing pattern.  I've layed out a template of sorts I want to follow on a "Board Geometry" subclass using lines.  Now, I want to route clines on an etch layer and snap them to the lines on my template. As I route, I have to right click and select "snap to vertex" at each line vertex.

Is there a way I can get the cline to snap to the line without having to right click each time?  In otherwords automatically snap to the line endpoints when I left click?

    Hello,

You can alias out the "Snap pick to" function to a letter on your keyboard using the following:

          funckey v "prepopup;pop dyn_option_select 'Snap pick to@:@Segment Vertex'"

Once this is set either on the Allegro command line or inside of your local ENV file all you will need to do is hover over the vertex and press "v" on your keyboard to snap to it.

    Hope this helps,

There's no need to trace lines if you know exactly where you want your clines.  You can quickly "Derive Connectivity" from any lines and that will turn the lines into CLINES automatically.

If you want to save your lines on a certain layer you can export IPF and re-import into the board on the proper layer.  Takes 10 seconds...

    Thanks Mike and Redwire,

    Both solutions will help tremendously.

Although, I couldn't seem to add an alias to the "v" key as I belive it is reserved for "paste".  Mapping to another letter worked...
